Egypt COC Certification

Issuing time:2020-03-05 13:35

The Egyptian coc certification was invented by the Egyptians and is a guarantee for the quality inspection of Egyptian export products. With the emergence of coc certification, the biggest beneficiaries are not only the majority of producers, but also the consumers who use the products. With the increasingly sound national quality inspection system, the interests of consumers are no longer protected as before, and the facilities for protecting the interests of consumers are not perfect. With the growing strength of the country, higher requirements are put forward for the quality of products. The inspection of product quality is undoubtedly the most fundamental guarantee of products. Products in various fields will have product quality certification. The current Egyptian coc certification mainly involves the textile and leather products industry, and has made clear inspection measures for the product quality of this industry.

1. The difference between Egyptian ILAC and Egyptian COC is convenient for the smoothness of Egypt's foreign trade in the later period.

ILAC, Chinese: International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organization. According to the Ministerial Order No. 626 of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry in November 2011, Egypt will begin to enforce new import regulations. In addition to the pre-shipment inspection certificate (CIQ), footwear and clothing must also provide a test report with the "ILAC" and "CNAS" marks issued by a third-party agency before they can be imported into Egypt. Therefore, many Egyptian customers will say that they need ILAC certificates. In fact, in the past, they needed CIQ certificates and ILAC-approved third-party laboratory test reports. Now, with the introduction of the new policy in 2016, CIQ+ILAC test reports are no longer applicable. Now customs clearance requires a certificate called COC.

2. The issuance of the COC certificate proves that the institution that issued this certificate has conducted a series of processes such as test report review and inspection review for this batch of products. Among them, the test report submitted to the issuing institution for review is preferably issued by an ILAC-approved laboratory.

So here is to answer everyone's misunderstanding. The ILAC certificate that Egyptians say is a historical legacy. The correct name is the Egyptian COC certificate.

If you don't want to correct the customer, just follow his meaning and call it the ILAC certificate, and then help him make a certificate that can clear customs for him.

3. "Egypt ILAC Certificate" = Egyptian COC Certificate

All textiles and leather products exported to Egypt, wallets, and belts must be inspected and obtain COC certificates from June 15, 2012 before they can be cleared at Egyptian customs.

This plan was initiated by Egypt's GOEIC (General Organization of Export and Imports Control) and covers all textile and leather products imported into Egypt to ensure that such products comply with relevant Egyptian standards.

4. How to apply?

If there are textile and leather products going to Egypt, and there are already test reports, first confirm whether the agency that issued the test report meets Egypt's inspection qualifications, and secondly confirm whether the test items meet Egypt's regulatory standards. Specifically, you can provide the product test report to the COC certification agency (such as Cotecna) for inquiry and confirmation. Confirm that the valid report meets regulatory requirements and apply for COC before shipment.

If there is no test report, you can directly apply for Egypt COC certification (including testing) one-stop service from the certification agency. The testing cycle is 7 working days.
